What a journey!

It’s amazing when God takes you on a journey because you can always count on the surprises, the very easy and the not so easy times. Countless stories we have read and heard of , about how God has started individuals, families, communities, nations on a journey and the end result is what man can see and know that it is only the work of an awesome God. I think of the story of Joseph, Gideon and many others of how God picked them from out of the very least and made them achieve great things in their day and the stories we still tell many generations later.

South Africa is a journey that God has taken Watoto on and I believe that the testimonies and influence that God will have in this nation will be one that will be told generations later. And guess what, He has chosen the very least, the orphan, to capture the hearts of many, drawing them to Himself and calling them to go with Him on a journey of justice that will change their lives forever.

I can imagine what 1983 must have been like, down town kampala, broken down city, buildings in ruin, people living living in fear, HIV/ AIDS a huge problem and yet God chose this very city to show the rest of the world that through two obedient lives, He could demonstrate that LOVE conquers all, that God is concerned about all of us and that He is still alive and well, ready to confront the world’s issues and bring complete healing and restoration to a nation and today as we know, a continent.

Choir 48 has been in South Africa since February and our journey has been nothing short of a miracle. We arrived in South Africa with no knowledge of how God was going to use the choir to touch peoples lives and draw us back to the responsibility of what it really means to be the church and how we can be the solution as we come alongside our communities and meet needs through compassion, generosity and above all LOVE…

keep reading this post as we shall unveil to you testimonies, stories of hope and faith of what God has done over the last five months in this beautiful nation of South Africa..
