We began our journey on the 9th of May 2014 when we departed from Entebbe Airport in Uganda at around 3pm in the afternoon. We first stopped off in Dubai, then Singapore before arriving in Brisbane, Australia early on May 11th. We were met by Luke Willey, the Australian Country Director and Kerri-Ann, the tour coordinator, and they took us to QCCC Brookfield where we spent our first week training.
This team consists of ten adults and twenty one children (eleven boys and ten girls). The adults act as caregivers and guardians and take care of the children in every way for the five months that the choir will be away from home.
We stayed at QCCC Brookfield for five days where we did things like training, checking our baggage, counting the merchandise we will sell on tour, checking all the equipment that we were going to use on the road, as well as doing a concert run through to see that we were right on track.

At Point Danger
On the 16th of May, Choir 66 had a concert at Banora Point High School. The next day, some of the children headed out to the beach with their hosts. They were able to visit a famous place known as Point Danger.

At Palm Beach, along the Coast Line
Before going to the Palm Beach venue to set up for an evening concert at St. John’s Anglican Church, the team headed to the beach to see the surfers in action. While there, the children and the adults even had a chance to put their feet in the water!
