CHOIR 88 IN MALAYSIA (Week 23 highlights)

Malaysia is a Southeast Asian country occupying parts of the Malay Peninsula and the island of Borneo. It’s known for its beaches, rainforests and mix of Malay, Chinese, Indian and European cultural influences.

Tuesday 27th march we travelled by bus to Malaysia and our first stop was in Johor Bahru.

The Johor Bahru District is a district located in the southern part of Johor, Malaysia.
The main economy activities in the district are international trading, manufacturing, medical and healthcare.

The genesis of our journey in Malaysia Johor Bahru
Same story that we carry everywhere that God has called us to minister is the same story we carry to this land of Malaysia which somewhat is like our home back in Uganda.

Have you ever imagined the journey of Jesus’ ministry?
He moved everyday of His life just to share good news with people He met. This was not by car or by modern technology that we have today. He walked, spoke with his strength to 1000s of people, for a very long time.
The question is, what gave Him the inspiration to do so despite the hard work which was even despised by the very people He reached out to?
Jesus carried a story that He knew was full of light, love, comfort, truth, deliverance, and answers to the questions that the world has. What story do you carry and what does it contain? Pause and ponder about it.
Today we carry the same message of hope that God has placed in our hearts and our inspiration is that there is some one out there who needs it just like we did a few years ago before God changed our story.

That’s why we love what we’re doing even after five months down the road.

Our first two days that is; Tuesday and Wednesday, were motivational due to the care and gratitude that we felt from these warm hearts that we met.

“What inspires a traveller on his unknown journey as he travels is realising that the features around are like the ones on his map.” Mark Pius

Such a grand welcome and joy gives us more reason to share our story with so much confidence knowing that where we are is home. Church of praise and Calvary City Church gave us such a shoulder touch that made us rise beyond the unknown encounters. First two days experience in Johor Bahru.

First two concerts with Calvary City Church
Thursday and Good Friday were a fount of redeeming stories that shone so bright through the hearts of so many. Like always, we never stop to reach out to the people and pray with them, take pictures, encourage and comfort them. People showed so much support for our merchandise and sponsorship which was another sign that they gratefully received our story.

Last two concerts in Johor Bahru with Church Of Praise
Saturday and Easter Sunday were indeed days of praise. As everyone was already in the Easter seasons and reminded of the greatest love ever demonstrated, nothing could hold our praises from lifting off the rooftops and breaking the ground.
Easter season was greatly celebrated as so many left with grateful hearts after being transformed by the story of signs and wonders of God’s love for them.

Moments at Church Of Praise

Fun packed day at Legoland Malaysia

This was the best icing sugar that could ever be used on such a great mighty cake of Easter praise experience from Thursday to Easter Sunday.
Church Of Praise sponsored us to go have our Easter Monday’s experience at the legoland water park. From the youngest child to oldest adult, our bodies can testify of how this fun packed day stretched our joy and excitement. Young and free we think is the line, it was a time of freeing up our fun side.
Better you experience it with your own eyes on Facebook.

That was crowned with a super dinner at KFC. We couldn’t wish for anymore because we had received the best of the day.

No one knows the full experience or what tomorrow might carry but only God.
One thing we have learnt is that everyday we meet new people on our journey and everyone of them matters because they make our experience matter. So live everyday treasuring people that come into your life because you never know how much they would make your life matter.
Thank you Calvary City Church and Church Of Praise for making our first experience of Malaysia in Johor Bahru matter so much. Your love and support has seen us off to Sibu with no worries but hope that God will continue writing His story through us.
God greatly bless you.

Tell a friend to tell a friend that we still have more concerts in Malaysia. Check to find out our tour schedule and come join us as we celebrate the story of God’s signs and wonders.

Have you ever watched a marathon from the beginning to the end? I have watched one from the start to the end and what is more interesting is the dynamics of it. Great athletes that are champion begin great and end greater. They start with a speed which they don’t lose but instead they keep consistent as the weak ones lose the pace. Then towards the end, they begin to increase their pace and at the sight of the finishing line they run so strong and fast like they have just started a 100 meters race. Beginning strong, finishing stronger.

28th March 2018, we left Japan, a country where we had such phenomenal experience and flew to Singapore with so much faith that time here would be so great and a new season to explore. Our first days in Singapore gave us such a momentum to begin our race here with such joy encrypted with so much hope, find our first week experience here.

Last week’s moments in Singapore

“The work of a good sports man is measured by their consistency and discipline to the end of the race”

It’s very easy to lose focus when you’re almost getting to the end since it always looks like its done, which is not true because you never know the momentum at which your adversary is coming at. Persistence and consistency will keep you upfront in any race.

In our last week’s moments God granted us such grace that enabled us end so great. We had our last concerts at St. Andrews cathedral, Gracehaven of the Salvation Army, Pentecost Methodist Church, All Saints Church and finally on Sunday, at Lighthouse Evangelism. We had such a supportive experience from people that came for all our concerts and this kept our courage so high and not only our courage but the testimonies, love and joy that these people had or experienced was an assurance of God’s favour and hand upon us.

The joy of fellowship

Jesus could have walked his journey alone but he didn’t only because he knew fellowship was so key and he needed friends to work together and walk by his side always.

“You can go a mile alone but with good company you can go a 1000 miles.”

If we have walked miles or harvested so many fruits, then it’s because of the great loving and supportive souls that have given of their time, energy, and resources to see us fly so high as eagles. No reward is equal to the services of such awesome friends, but our earnest prayer is that God will greatly bless you with every heart desire you hold and that he will guide and lead you to your uniqueness and greatness. You have been such a shoulder to us, google maps when we got stuck along the journey, melodies of sweet soothing sound to our minds and more, you have opened up your ground for us to freely express our faith and share our story. Thank you for making us feel like we matter because you also matter to us.

Just like every road has a destiny, so was our time here in Singapore. Everyday has been a great testimony and you can testify to that if you read or if you have been reading our stories.

Reaching your destiny is never the end but the beginning of another chapter. Our new chapter is choir 88 in Malaysia. So don’t miss out if you are in Malaysia or let your friend know when we will have a concert near your home or workplace by visiting our website

In the land of Malaysia already

Thank you Singapore and God bless you.

What’s the first thing you do when you get to bed? Hahahha we are sure the answers here are countless because different people do different things.

“Reflection of your life is as good as your resting time.”

When God rested on the seventh day, he reflected on His creation and He said it’s good. There is time to work and a time to rest. This week we took off five days of mid tour break to rest and reflect on the journey we have walked and the things God has enabled us to achieve but more so to set new resolutions of getting better in everything we have to do. The journey has been so amazing.

So it’s been five months since we left home for our signs and wonders tour and if you’ve been following our blog you’ll find that our stay here has been nothing short of amazing, we’ve seen so much favour, we’ve been blessed in so many more ways than fingers and toes could count, in case you’re confused I’m simply saying we’ve had such an awesome tour so far.

In just four months, we have experienced the MTR, the underwater tunnels, the extremely tall buildings and dynamic diet of Hong Kong, some of the children even had the privilege of meeting their sponsors here, we had beautiful hearts open up their homes to us for our two month stay and each week was nothing short of extraordinary, we worshipped with refugees and shared heart-to-heart moments with them and prayed with them and in case it isn’t already obvious Hong Kong was lovely.

On to the next two months, our next stop was Japan, we had been warned about the cold here so we were mentally prepared. Luckily, we started from Tropical Okinawa. This was the first time Watoto was sharing the love of Jesus in Okinawa. We were able to fellowship with churches like Naha Baptist, Joy Chapel, Goya Baptist, Shiroiie Fellowship and other churches and we are grateful for they made our stay there amazing. We constantly had our heads out the windows as we drove by the beaches in awe of the colours that our Heavenly Father breathed onto beautiful Okinawa.

We later made our way North through Sasebo, Fukuoka, Imari, Kumamoto where we met some of the families that were affected by the earthquake, Okayama, Matsuyama, Kobe, Yokohama where we were hosted by the loving and generous Midorino Christ Church and had our final concert in Tokyo. We even got to meet the Governor and if that’s not awesome, I don’t know what is. Our Japan leg of the tour was such a huge blessing as we saw children give their lives to Christ in such large numbers, we saw doors open that I believe only did because of God’s favour, we made friends that we can confidently say will last a lifetime and we bless the Lord for this season because it’s only been possible because of him.
Oh, we also ate a lot of sushi and we loved it.
For all the friends we made in Japan, we call you Family and we are grateful for all you did for us, you added important pages to the story of our lives and we are forever in your debt, we hope to see you soon, in Uganda.

Now we are in Singapore “Lion City” and what a “hot” welcome we had! We are here for a month and so far we’ve had seven concerts, and they’ve been great. We’ve learned a couple of lessons that we will definitely carry back home with us and hope we can share them and see them spread like a wildfire. For example, doing everything we do not for ourselves, but so that the next person can find a better place. We can’t wait to see what the pot of goodness God has in store for us holds, as we finish this 6 month journey. We hope that you can keep praying with us that we will finish well.

We encourage you to tell a friend in Singapore or Malaysia that we will be having a worship experience near them soon so they should stop by with their whole clan if possible. The kids and adults are dying to connect with you… see you soon.
