Home sweet home

Is it really true that east to west north to south home is the best?
If its true, what really makes it the best? Let’s find out this together.

It’s been a week now since we returned back home from a tour experience that was phenomenal. What made this tour so great is encrypted within all our blogs where we have shared our awesome experiences weekly. You can find all of them here.
Well part of this experience was that we found souls that welcomed and loved us like their very own that never at ounce did we ever feel like we weren’t at home. They gave us a place full of peace, love, comfort and so secure with an overflow of generosity that we couldn’t wish for anything more. We cannot stop saying thank you and God bless every soul that welcomed Watoto into their heart, churches, homes, organizations and schools. We returned home so happy and healthy all because of your warm generous hands.

Six months is quite a big bunch of time away from home. Six months living with different people with different cultures living in different countries or areas with different beliefs and norms that eat different food is such a big experience that we had. Was this enjoyable? With no doubt yes we enjoyed every moment of it because of people that we met.
After all that, returning home is another cultural shock because our minds and body have been used to something else. That’s not mentioning the jet lag experience.
They say, “where the stream has ever flowed it will flow again.”
Returning home was returning to where it all started and to where all our life story was birthed.

“What makes home the best is not because its the most fancy or beautiful or safe but because its where the story of our life is birthed or founded.” Mark

As a choir, we were glad and so happy to return to our grounds. We were welcomed back home as heroes with great honour like a victorious army after a war.

Seeing old friends and family members was such a joy like of a man in a desert seeing drops of rain after a very long time.
We returned the children back to Watoto villages or homes to be reunited with their mothers, sisters and brothers and also friends. The moment was so golden as they had tears of joy seeing their sons and daughters come back very healthy and grown.

“You can go to so many places that can feel like home but no place can be like home, home is a place like no other.” Mark.

Well done.

Six months tour experience was a great success for us because we went out there and fought the good fight and we emerged as victors. The journey wasn’t easy but we woke up everyday with great determination and hope knowing that we will make it by God’s sufficient grace and perfect power.

“A champion will fight through everything.” Floyd Mayweather Jr.

We returned not as failures but as champions because we had run our race so well and it was finished. The secret of our victory and success was in prayer, thanksgiving and not worrying about anything. Generally it was in the fellowships we had as a team or family always that kept us going, strong, encouraged and working together.

“In nothing be anxious; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.” Philippians‬ ‭4:6-7‬ ‭ASV‬‬

With God at centre of it all, all our paths were guided to meet the right people, places, support and everything we needed to become great champions.

The ground staff that supported us from the road appreciated us so much in a way that was humbling and inspiring.

One of the ground staff in her words said, “we set you out there because we trusted you and we knew you were more than able to tell our story no matter what. It wasn’t easy because we know but you made it through so strong without ashaming us. You represented us so well but above it all you have made God a proud father. Thank you so much for being such a light to the world, I believe you so many must have been inspired by your great work done. God bless you.”

Imagine the colour of our hearts and faces after such a great inspiring speech, we will let you enjoy the brightness and joy within these moments.

There is such a fulfilment in saying thank you to those that have done good because it’s the indirect way of motivating them to keep doing good but on side B it’s also a humble way of saying you have blessed me.

Children with their well done certificates. Thank you

Do you always say thank you to those that have given or spoken or been there for you?

“None of us got to where we are alone. Whether the assistance we received was obvious or subtle, acknowledging someone’s help is a big part of understanding the importance of saying thank you.” Harvey Mackay

Well done to all the children and adults of choir 88 and may God greatly increase you and bless all your heart desires and He also bless your time with family and friends that as you rest, all your energies will be restored with greatness and that all your good works shall be blessed and may you stay inspired and motivated to do good always and forever AMEN.

CHOIR 88: TIME FOR REFLECTION

What’s the first thing you do when you get to bed? Hahahha we are sure the answers here are countless because different people do different things.

“Reflection of your life is as good as your resting time.”

When God rested on the seventh day, he reflected on His creation and He said it’s good. There is time to work and a time to rest. This week we took off five days of mid tour break to rest and reflect on the journey we have walked and the things God has enabled us to achieve but more so to set new resolutions of getting better in everything we have to do. The journey has been so amazing.

So it’s been five months since we left home for our signs and wonders tour and if you’ve been following our blog you’ll find that our stay here has been nothing short of amazing, we’ve seen so much favour, we’ve been blessed in so many more ways than fingers and toes could count, in case you’re confused I’m simply saying we’ve had such an awesome tour so far.

C67EC7AF-0C0A-41EE-BFC2-5EDDE078EBAB

In just four months, we have experienced the MTR, the underwater tunnels, the extremely tall buildings and dynamic diet of Hong Kong, some of the children even had the privilege of meeting their sponsors here, we had beautiful hearts open up their homes to us for our two month stay and each week was nothing short of extraordinary, we worshipped with refugees and shared heart-to-heart moments with them and prayed with them and in case it isn’t already obvious Hong Kong was lovely.

On to the next two months, our next stop was Japan, we had been warned about the cold here so we were mentally prepared. Luckily, we started from Tropical Okinawa. This was the first time Watoto was sharing the love of Jesus in Okinawa. We were able to fellowship with churches like Naha Baptist, Joy Chapel, Goya Baptist, Shiroiie Fellowship and other churches and we are grateful for they made our stay there amazing. We constantly had our heads out the windows as we drove by the beaches in awe of the colours that our Heavenly Father breathed onto beautiful Okinawa.

We later made our way North through Sasebo, Fukuoka, Imari, Kumamoto where we met some of the families that were affected by the earthquake, Okayama, Matsuyama, Kobe, Yokohama where we were hosted by the loving and generous Midorino Christ Church and had our final concert in Tokyo. We even got to meet the Governor and if that’s not awesome, I don’t know what is. Our Japan leg of the tour was such a huge blessing as we saw children give their lives to Christ in such large numbers, we saw doors open that I believe only did because of God’s favour, we made friends that we can confidently say will last a lifetime and we bless the Lord for this season because it’s only been possible because of him.
Oh, we also ate a lot of sushi and we loved it.
For all the friends we made in Japan, we call you Family and we are grateful for all you did for us, you added important pages to the story of our lives and we are forever in your debt, we hope to see you soon, in Uganda.

Now we are in Singapore “Lion City” and what a “hot” welcome we had! We are here for a month and so far we’ve had seven concerts, and they’ve been great. We’ve learned a couple of lessons that we will definitely carry back home with us and hope we can share them and see them spread like a wildfire. For example, doing everything we do not for ourselves, but so that the next person can find a better place. We can’t wait to see what the pot of goodness God has in store for us holds, as we finish this 6 month journey. We hope that you can keep praying with us that we will finish well.

We encourage you to tell a friend in Singapore or Malaysia that we will be having a worship experience near them soon so they should stop by with their whole clan if possible. The kids and adults are dying to connect with you… see you soon.

CHOIR 88: DREAMS CAN BE WALKED (Highlights of the twentieth week)

He who dreams not is as good as dead. “

What are your dreams and what have you dreamt in the past? Have you walked your dreams yet?

What do you think of this? Am sure you think it’s normal because everything is on google. Well we are not talking about the google on your phone, tablet, or computer but the real google land.

How God makes our dreams come true is another mystery. We have learnt that, it’s not ours to worry how our dreams will come to pass but it’s for God. All we have to do is to live everyday and live it to the best doing all you have to do because you never know today could be the stem to the developing tomorrow branch.

On the 3rd and 4th of March, we had concerts and one of them was attended by one of the google officials Ashley Woods, an associate brand marketing manager and she was inspired by our story. It’s from her heart that God yielded our journey to google land.

Can you imagine the questions that could have been rooming in our heads at that moment? How do they do everything they do? How is it possible that they literally have information almost about everything in the world and even the latest? Hahhahaha it was all questions but guess what! We found our answers in this adventure.

Not only was it educational but also very inspiring.

If our feet could speak they would complain to our eyes because the eyes were trapped in the beauty so made perfect and molded with excellence. It was such an awesome experience.

Surely our eyes were left in amazement.

Visiting schools

Reaching out to young souls is not only building the world today but even tomorrow. It’s been four months and we have visited so many schools and one thing that stands out is that whenever students listen to stories of Watoto children, they are so inspired and motivated to dream big, not to take things for granted but more to be happy knowing they are created unique and special.

We visited St, Andrew’s Village Schools, Enfants Educare Pte Ltd, and it was such an amazing experience with these souls and not only for them but also for us.

Visiting St Luke’s Eldercare Whampoa

How old do you wish to live? To live long and healthy is a blessing only from God. Spending some time with these elderly was like being surrounded by books with stories and experiences about life. “To live is to see and experience.” We had a great worship moment with the elders that left them in joy and smiles that only the peace of God can bring.

Concert on Saturday

Signs and wonders of God’s love upon us is our story. We have been lifted from the darkest places to the brightest places. What we echo is not pain but our victory and hope for the future. We are excited to share this love to the whole world because before God’s eyes everyone matters.

“Your legacy is as good as your influence.”

We are greatful to God for touching those around with his touch of love.

Sunday moments

Choir 88 on Sunday 11th March was divided into two groups that went to worship together with Calvary Baptist Church and Gospel Baptist Church. Then later rejoined at Judson Baptist Church and it was another great worship experience. It was the first time experience for all the people to hear about Watoto and our story. It left every soul so happy and inspired. The pictures can tell the excitement.

We are the light of the world (Matthew 5:14). Where is no light there is darkness and he who is in darkness needs light. We count it a big blessing that our light is shining so bright to so many people around the world. We can’t stay silent because then what would our light be for?

“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5:16‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

We count it a blessing to be able to share our story to the world so that they may know and believe our God of signs and wonders.
